For your convenience and security, we can conduct appraisals at your preferred location, whether that’s your home, office or a secure bank vault. Your jewelry is thoroughly cleaned and carefully inspected for its condition (loose stones or other signs of wear).

Stones are measured, carat weights are determined, color and clarity are assessed, and proportions are recorded where applicable. The stones are also tested for identification and analyzed using advanced gemological laboratory equipment. Metals are tested, and relevant details such as the method of manufacture, finish type, trademarks, serial numbers, and hallmarks are thoroughly researched and documented in the report.

All supporting documentation provided by the client (such as receipts, previous appraisal reports, certificates of authenticity, etc.) is carefully reviewed and incorporated into the report if it is relevant to the valuation or authentication of the item being appraised.

Items are photographed (a minimum of two positions).

Comprehensive research is conducted using relevant markets to determine an accurate and credible value for the appraisal.

Chaikowsky Jewelry Appraisals, LLC follows the ethics and standards of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
